What this site is
River Forest Referrals ("the site") is a neighbor-shared directory of local vendors serving River Forest, Illinois. Vendor listings are submitted by residents. Recommendations reflect the personal experience of the resident who submitted them and are not verified, endorsed, licensed, or warranted by the site operator or by any homeowners' association.
Using the directory
You may browse the directory and use the "copy to clipboard," "share," and "Text Me This" actions on vendor cards for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or programmatically harvest vendor contact information;
- Use the directory for spam, telemarketing, unsolicited outreach, or lead-generation resale;
- Submit a vendor listing on behalf of someone whose consent you don't have, or misrepresent a business or your own referral relationship to it;
- Interfere with the site's operation, its rate limits, or its abuse-prevention measures.
The Text Me This SMS feature
When you tap "Text Me This" on a vendor card, enter your mobile number, and confirm the on-screen consent, we send you one SMS message containing that vendor's contact information. By using this feature you agree that:
- You are the subscriber to the mobile number you enter, or you have explicit permission to receive messages at that number;
- You understand the message is a one-time send in response to your request, and no marketing, promotional, or automated follow-up messages will be sent;
- Message and data rates may apply, and you're responsible for those costs with your mobile carrier;
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of any future messages; reply HELP for a help response;
- Delivery is handled by our SMS carrier (Twilio) and neither the site nor Twilio guarantees delivery in all circumstances (e.g. carrier outages, invalid numbers, opt-out on file).

Vendor listings — accuracy & disputes
We make a reasonable effort to keep listings current, but vendor phone numbers, hours, and contact people can change without notice. We do not warrant that any listing is accurate or that any listed vendor will provide satisfactory service.
If you are a listed vendor and want your information corrected or removed, or if you believe a listing is misrepresenting your business, email espdist@gmail.com and we will act on it promptly.

Sidebar banner ads are paid placements reviewed manually before running. Ads are not endorsements — a banner ad appearing on the site does not imply that the vendor is a recommended or "referred" vendor. See the Advertise page for placement terms.

The site and its content are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Vendor recommendations are neighbor opinions, not professional or licensed advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the directory, use of the SMS feature, or reliance on any vendor listing. If a vendor you contact through the directory disappoints, that's between you and the vendor.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms; the current version at the top of this page is authoritative. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
